The Psychedelic Training Centre NZ was founded to bridge the gap in professional psychedelic training in Aotearoa. As the first organisation of its kind in New Zealand, we are committed to providing world-class education, ensuring that local professionals have access to the latest knowledge and best practices in psychedelic medicine.

James Bunn

With an extensive background in life sciences, biotech, and communications, James Bunn has dedicated his career to advancing the psychedelic field. After qualifying as a lawyer in the UK, James has worked with some of the world’s leading psychedelic organizations, including the Beckley Foundation, Drug Science, PAREA, and TheraPsil.

James has a strong interest in leveraging Real World Evidence to inform regulatory practices related to psychedelic medicines. As a scientific communicator, he is passionate about making science accessible and engaging for the general public, ensuring that information about the impact of these transformative medicines is widely shared.

Adam Waugh

Adam has spent recent years working with not-for-profits focused on psychedelics, harm reduction, and drug policy reform. From 2019 to 2024, he was a senior manager at PsyCare UK, overseeing a service that supported thousands of individuals experiencing challenging psychedelic and drug-related experiences. He also worked with The Loop Drug Checking Service during that time, most recently as Training Coordinator, where he led the development and expansion of their training programme on a wide range of psychoactive substances.


Adam is a co-founder and co-director of PsyAware, a not-for-profit organisation providing education and events, as well as support for those who have experienced harm in psychedelic spaces.


He holds a BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics & Economics from Oxford University and an MSc in Criminology & Criminal Justice (Distinction) from Durham University, where his dissertation focused on reducing harms from non-medicinal use of psychedelics.
